Duncan Stewart: RTE's 'ECOEYE'  Duncan Stewart is the winner of the Sligo Sustainable Futures Award 2012, for his sterling work in conservation and promotion of environmental living in Ireland. As the Presenter of RTE's popular 'EcoEye' programme, and through his advocacy work, Duncan has proven to be a true visionary in the area of sustainability. He will also be discussing his work at the Conference. 

Constantin Gurdgiev: Eurozone: Crisis of the Peripheries (Literati Award for Best Chapter 2011) 

 Dr. Constantin Gurdgiev, Head of Research for St. Columbanus AG, and the Adjunct Lecturer in Finance with Trinity College, Dublin will discuss the Eurozone Crisis with a review of his chapter from the book Sustainable Politics and the Crisis of the Peripheries: Ireland & Greece during the Plenary on that subject

 Peter Doran: UN Sustainable Development

Dr. Peter Doran senior editor and writer on the 'Earth Negotiations Bulletin' for the UN International Institute for Sustainable Development and School of Law,Queens University Belfast, will discuss sustainable development in local and global contexts.

Kieran Allen: Eurozone: Crisis of the Peripheries

Dr. Kieran Allen, School of Sociology, UCD, will discuss his chapter from Sustainable Politics and the Crisis of the Peripheries: Ireland & Greece, as well as his other works such as Ireland's Economic Crash at the conference.  

 Dorothy Stewart & Niamh McDonald: An Taisce                            Dr. Dorothy Stewart  joined the Environmental Education Unit of An Taisce, as the Manager of the Green Home Programme in 2008. 

Dorothy’s PhD was on 'Smart Growth' as an alternative methodological approach to urban development and planning. The research included an "Irish Smart Growth Toolkit" for planning policy and strategy.   Niamh McDonald MSc (UCL), BCL (UCD), is an urban planner with qualifications in law and urban planning  with particular focus on the Eco Municipality movement and the Transition Town movement. Prior to joining An Taisce, Niamh worked with the Office of First & Deputy First Minister &  in Northern Ireland, and is Secretary of the Irish Green Building Council’s Resilient Communities Task Group.

 Dr. Liam Leonard, Lecturer: School of Business and Humanities, IT Sligo, Senior Editor,Advances in Ecopolitics Book Series and Author: The Environmental Movement in Ireland and Co editor: Sustainable Politics & the Crisis of the Peripheries: Ireland & Greece will launch and discuss this book at the conference. He will be joined by Paula Kenny, co-author of the book Sustainable Justice and of the Irish policy chapter in Crisis of the Peripheries.
